filmstaff.ch

Wednesday, 4. October | 17:00 – 19:00 | Frame Lounge

The film industry is visibly short of skilled workers, especially in the technical and craft areas. Due to the steadily increasing number of film and series productions in this country in recent years, it is becoming increasingly difficult to fill the (technical) crews with Swiss personnel. Thanks to the adoption of the new film law, additional financial resources will flow into Swiss film and series production in the coming years, further increasing the production volume. Against this background, representatives from the industry have launched the Filmstaff project. Filmstaff aims to present the film industry as an attractive and sustainable career field, to raise awareness of the topic among a broader audience and to offer a low-threshold entry opportunity for people outside the industry. In recent months, the information platform for career starters "filmstaff.ch" has been set up with the Filmstaff database, and an accompanying campaign has been developed to introduce those interested to working in film. To this end, information events on film jobs will be held.

As part of the ZFF Industry Spotlights, the new information platform filmstaff.ch and the Filmstaff database will be launched and presented to the industry. In the subsequent panel discussion about the shortage of skilled workers, the measures taken so far will be discussed and a look into the future will be taken from different perspectives.
