ZFF Day by Day / 9

04. October 2013

Harrison Ford is the centre of this evening’s festival celebrations. An 80s cinema Icon, Ford will receive the Golden Eye for Lifetime Achievement at the corso 1 cinema. He will personally accept the Golden Eye following a screening of RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK beginning at 18:00. Harrison Ford will be available for interviews, photos and autographs on the Green Carpet in front of the corso cinema at around 19:00.

We look forward to the world premiere screening of Markus Imboden’s literary adaption of the Swiss novel AM HANG (21:00, corso 1). The film’s director and the actors Henry Hübchen, Max Simonischek and Martina Gedeck are expected in Zurich for the premiere. L’AMOUR EST UN CRIME PARFAIT (18.00, Le Paris) and SPIELTRIEB (???) complete today’s Gala Premieres programme.

Fans (and latent fans) of Brazilian film meet at the Arena Cinemas for today’s “New World View” programme comprising the tragicomedy O PALHACO (15:15), the street art doc CIDADE CINZA (17:00), the fantastic character study ERA UMA VEZ EU, VERONICA (17:15) and the SHORT FILM BLOCK (19:30), presented by the International Short Film Festival Winterthur.

The ZFF “San Sebastian Window” presents CANIBAL, a highlight from our Spanish partner festival’s programme. There is also another opportunity to catch the American drama WHITE RABBIT (???), which celebrated its premiere in Zurich. The works of emerging Swiss filmmakers can be seen in Zurich University of the Arts’ short film block “Sex Sells” (17:30, Filmpodium). No ticket necessary – entry is free!

Today, of course, is also a day to catch up on numerous competition films. A complete list of the day’s screenings can be found here. A chock-a-block day of captivating cinema comes to a close tonight with the “A Sparkling Night” party at the Aura club (doors open 23:00). Those who like a little less noise will find the perfect ambience at the ZFF Lounge by tibits. The complete party programme can be found here.
