Dos Estaciones

by Juan Pablo González Window: San Sebastián

In the former flourishing highlands of Jalisco, 50-year-old María runs the last independent tequila factory. The tenacious businesswoman is held in high esteem by her employees, but her company has suffered bitter setbacks, and not only because of serious fungal infestations. In order to save the factory from the threat of takeover by foreign corporations, she hires the young accountant Rafaela as her last hope. Soon, far more than a purely business relationship develops between the two women. The debut feature DOS ESTACIONES is an engaging account of social and economic change in the Mexican highlands.
