Manos Sucias
Buenaventura, Columbia: A huge amount of cocaine needs to be shipped along the Pacific Coast to its destination. In the hope of making a quick buck, desperate fisherman Jacobo and naive go-getter Delio agree to the task. This unlikely pair is accompanied on its boat trip by the unscrupulous smuggler Miguel. The details of their route are sent anonymously via mobile phone. When one morning a group of unsuspecting children apparently discovers the goods, Miguel loses his nerve. Jacobo and Delio suddenly find themselves alone on a journey into the unknown. In order to complete their dangerous mission, the two must now depend upon each other entirely – for better or for worse. Filmed at actual locations along the Pacific Coast, director Josef Kubota Wladyka leads us in this realistic narcotics drama into a world of drug smuggling, where the protagonists exhibit none of the typical gangster traits.
