When her husband Hal is arrested for fraud and their common property confiscated, Jasmine must bid farewell to her comfortable upper class life in Manhattan. Having moved to San Francisco into the modest apartment of her sister Ginger, she is determined to get her life back on track – not an easy task for a woman at the end of her tether who wants to keep up untarnished appearances.
