by Cesc Gay Gala Premieres

Having developed a profound friendship since childhood, the Atlantic now separates two companions. While Julián has built a life for himself as an actor in Madrid, mathematician Tomás works as a lecturer at a university in Canada. It is no coincidence then that Tomás is suddenly at Julián’s door after years of separation. He has found out that his best friend is not well. The two share a couple of unforgettable days in each other’s company, wallowing in memories, laughing together, and finally crying – because their reunion is also their last goodbye. They jump on a plane for one final trip. Truman is an ode to friendship and to love. With honesty – but also with humour and light-heartedness – the Catalan director Cesc Gay tells of the courage needed to accept that death is just another part of life.
