ZFF Gala and Special Screening of JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX in the Cinema Frame

Following the great success of JOKER in 2019 – the film celebrated its Swiss premiere at the ZFF – writer, director and producer Todd Phillips returns with his new, powerful vision, where Joaquin Phoenix steps back into his Oscar®-winning role as Arthur Fleck. This time, Oscar®-winning cultural icon Lady Gaga (A STAR IS BORN) joins him in the role of Lee Quinzel and, alongside Phoenix, brings a fascinating new dynamic to the screen. The film tells the story of how Arthur Fleck, institutionalized at Arkham, awaits trial for his crimes as Joker. While struggling with his dual identity, Arthur not only stumbles upon true love, but also finds the music that's always been inside him. Other roles in JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX are played by Oscar® nominees Brendan Gleeson (THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN) and Catherine Keener (GET OUT, CAPOTE), as well as Zazie Beetz, who once again takes on the role of Sophie Dumond from JOKER.

This is what the Special Screening in the cinema Frame will look like

The Special Screening of JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX will take place on October 2, in the cinema Frame at the Europaalee, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Pictures, SRF and the ZFF. On that day, the film will be screened in all six halls at the same time.

The big Special Screening of JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX is a celebration for cineasts, in the presence of stars and personalities from the film and cinema industry. Guests will be invited by Warner Bros. Entertainment, SRF and the ZFF.

JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX as a Gala Screening at the ZFF

After the Special Screening in the cinema Frame, JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX will be screened at the ZFF as part of the official ZFF selection in the section Gala Premieres. Tickets for the Gala Screening can be acquired starting September 23 on the website of the Zurich Film Festival.
