by Ruben Östlund
Yaya and Carl are young, beautiful and spoiled. When the influencer couple is invited on a cruise for the super-rich, they are able to perfectly combine relaxation and work over a glass of champagne. Behind the scenes, however, things are far less paradisiacal. When the cynical and permanently drunk captain locks himself in his cabin, the crew is left to fulfil the demanding guests' every wish, no matter how absurd. When a storm breaks, the luxury cruise finally gets completely out of hand. The Swedish master director Ruben Östlund presents a deliciously exuberant evaluation of the egoism of the super-rich in the bitterly wicked satire TRIANGLE OF SADNESS. This year's Palme d'Or-winning film from Cannes invites us to think and, above all, to laugh.
