Taking place in the big city as well as in the vast jungle, this selection of short films by young filmmakers captures the complex reality of Colombian everyday life – an everyday life that is located between optimism and the ghosts of painful memories of conflict. PICHIRILO tells of young people in the big city and their dreams to escape from everyday reality. THE JUNGLE KNOWS YOU BETTER THAN YOU DO and TIERRA MOJADA take us deep into the jungle, where exoticism, beauty and ruthlessness go hand in hand. EL LABERINTO is a spherical-experimental account of the illegal drug trade, while KILLING KLAUS KINSKI cleverly deals with Werner Herzog’s legendary FITZCARRALDO shoot, reflecting the interaction between man and nature.
