Lucas is without doubt a fine human being. Life hasn’t been easy though: his wife has left him and he’s lost his job as a teacher. He manages to find a new job at the local kindergarten, meets his friends for hunts and his son Michael wants to live with him. Lucas is finally getting his life back when Klara, the daughter of his best friend, tells a thoughtless lie to her kindergarten teacher – with big consequences. Overnight, Lucas – quite literally - becomes the target of his former friends. Thomas Vinterberg continues the theme of his film FESTEN, which tells of a family father’s long-past abuse, but in JAGTEN, the story revolves around the injustices faced by an abuse suspect.
