The 2008 Republican National Convention saw fierce street protests aimed at President George W. Bush. Friends since childhood, David McKay and Brad Crowder travelled from Bush’s hometown of Midland to be at the protests, where they were suspected of terrorist activities and arrested in their hotel room. Is the arrest of two leftwing “terrorists” an FBI success story or an example of irrational hysteria at the cost of civil liberties following the 9/11 attacks?
