Mina loses the ground from under her feet when she learns that her husband Babak was wrongfully convicted and executed. The court promises her a sum of money as compensation, but this alone is not enough for Mina, who must now raise her daughter on her own. She demands an official apology from the Iranian authorities. One day, a friendly stranger named Reza shows up. He claims to have owed Babak a debt that he now wants to settle. Hesitantly, Mina, in her financial distress, accepts his offer and Reza proves to be an extremely supportive new friend who helps Mina out. But Mina has no idea that they are both connected by a dark secret.
