How did you come to ZFF and what are your tasks?
After years of wanting to sign up as a volunteer myself but never doing so, I came across an advertised internship position for the coordination of volunteers at ZFF in the spring of 2022. I immediately applied for the position, was then allowed to complete the internship and am now permanently employed as the coordinator of the volunteers. I'm also in charge of beverages at ZFF and look after the food trucks during the festival.
How was your time as a volunteer coordinator at ZFF so far?
The internship has been one of the best experiences I've ever had. Shortly before and during the festival, the work is very intense, but I was still able to enjoy the time, thanks to the great team that puts on an unforgettable festival year after year. To feel what real teamwork means is amazing. And, I also have special memories of the many interesting encounters with the audience and the volunteers.
Let's assume you were to sign up as a volunteer today after all: What tasks would you be particularly looking forward to?
One of the areas that I would certainly find exciting is cinema support, where you help out directly on site at the cinema. I would also really enjoy helping out at the bar and in the service area or working in our store. What I like about it is that you don't have to be a professional for these tasks, you just have to be motivated and have fun. But maybe I would also have signed up as a runner - that gives you an insight into many different areas.
Why do you recommend applying as a volunteer for ZFF?
Volunteering with us gives you a unique look behind the scenes of the festival. You get to know the operations of the event from a different perspective and have the chance to meet new people and make friends.
Sign up as a volunteer now. We are looking forward to you!
