The Propaganda Game – (WIP)

North Korea is a nightmare for many people. Its borders are the most strictly guarded of all borders on earth. Breaches of basic human rights, threats, isolation and lack of communication make the country one of the world’s most feared states. For THE PROPAGANDA GAME, independent filmmaker Álvaro Longoria gained exclusive ‘official’ (therefore not free) access via the only foreigner working for the North Korean government, the unpredictable and manipulative Spaniard Alejandro Cao de Benós. With him, we penetrate the last iron curtain, travel through the country, question its clichés and analyze its propaganda strategies. What we see is too good to be true. A bizarre and thought-provoking confrontation.
