Ben continues to lay in long after his victim has hit the floor. Violent attacks are a part of his daily life. But, when he ends up in the young offenders institute for the umpteenth time, his social worker, Niklas, offers him a unique opportunity; to spend his sentence at the Waldhaus open prison. There, fences and walls are replaced by a strict daily routine and a never-ending list of regulations. Ben integrates well into the small community of seven inmates and everything is going well. Then, Waldhaus’ director, Eva, returns from a medical leave of absence. On seeing Eva, Ben immediately realises that she is the woman he brutally beat during one of his last masked attacks.
