Rune is sentenced to two years in Denmark’s toughest top-security prison after committing a violent crime. In his early twenties, the good-looking man sees his identity reduced to a number and a letter of the alphabet – he becomes nothing more than another nobody: Rune is reduced to R. He decides to play it safe and avoid any unnecessary contact with the hard core of the prison population. This is easier said than done, as anybody who does not live according to the rules and code of honour in this parallel world soon gets into trouble. R feels the full force of the law when he is sent to the special wing, where he has to find his place amongst the prison’s most violent and hardened inmates.
