by Peter Luisi
The alcoholic Josef lives a lonely and neglected life in a run-down, two-apartment house with a garden. When his single sister moves into the second apartment with her 4-year-old daughter, Nina, an unexpected friendship develops between Josef and the bright young girl. Nina approaches her uncle without prejudice and, without knowing it, helps him step by step to set him free of his addiction. 35 years later, the paths of the two cross again – but now it is Nina who needs help. Director Peter Luisi succeeds in creating a warm-hearted drama about two people who give each other fresh courage to face life.
