As an experienced horse trainer, Wiebke is not intimidated by difficult animals. At a large stable, the single mother crafted the perfect life for herself and her nine-year-old adoptive daughter Nicola. The self-determined woman keeps her new admirer Benedict at a safe distance. Nicola is about to get a younger adopted sister, the five-year-old Raya from Bulgaria. A ray of sunshine at first glance, Raya carries a traumatic experience with her that nobody knows about. As her behaviour becomes ever more unpredictable and aggressive, she not only poses an increasing threat to Nicola, but also pushes Wiebke to her limits. While the entirety of Raya’s surroundings turns its back on her, Wiebke is determined to help the lost girl, even if it means resorting to unexpected, even questionable, methods.
