by Leopold Lindtberg, Walter Lesch
Jakob Stäubli runs a grocery store on the countryside. When his beloved daughter Nelly no longer desires to return home, he decides to sell his business and move to Zurich with his wife in order to stay close to Nelly. Soon, he finds himself struggling with the temptations which the big city has to offer while simultaneously trying to fend off Nelly's deceitful fiancée. In collaboration with SRF, Cinémathèque suisse, Memoriav and Praesens, ZFF again presents a restored version of a Swiss cinema classic. The comedy JÄ-SOO! is the oldest preserved dialect film in Switzerland and directorial debut of dramatist Leopold Lindtberg which built the foundation of his successful career in film.
