As a response to over-population, Norwegian scientists have developed a method of shrinking humans down to just 13 cm high. And this new miniature life’s one huge advantage is that the cost of living shrinks with it – downsizing is the new path to riches. It’s no surprise to anybody when mini housing estates, where tiny people can live a life of luxury, begin popping up all over the world. Even the stifled occupational therapist Paul, who actually wanted to be a doctor, and his wife, who dreams of living in a bigger house, think that this controversial new technology could signal the beginning of a better life… Director Alexander Payne weaves together a crazy theory with an even crazier practice in this passionately set science fiction comedy – a perfect showcase for ensemble actors Matt Damon, Christoph Waltz and Kristen Wiig.
