by Paul Haggis
A car accident in LA sets off a fatal chain reaction. Paul Haggis’ Oscar-winning directing debut portrays 36 hours in the lives of a handful of people who could not be more different. Torn between fear, anger, desperation, but also hope and happiness, they are inhabitants of a megacity in a permanent state of emergency. Tension between ethnic minorities and social classes is the underlying theme which binds these intricately structured episodes.
