David knows exactly how life works. At least that’s what he thinks. And the dogmatic student knows exactly what he’s going to do this summer: Spend several weeks with his best friend Jennifer on an apple farm in Oregon. But Jennifer stands him up and David finds himself all alone in this unfamiliar environment, dirtying his hands together with the Mexican harvesters and closely watched by Hobbs, a grumpy farmer who is about to offer him a job in the processing factory. Here, David makes friends with the forklift truck driver Curly, who surprises him one day with his collection of sex toys. Equally bizarre and insightful encounters soon bring David’s simple worldview crashing down.
