Following an attack by a group of Iraqis, the American truck driver Paul Conroy wakes up to find himself in a coffin, buried alive under a metre of sand with the air fast running out. Initially, the father and husband has no idea how he ended up in this situation, or even who could have done this to him and why. His only chance of contacting the outside world is via his mobile phone, which has an Arabic keyboard, a lighter and a torch. With no reception, a rapidly discharging battery and a severe lack of oxygen, these three items seem to offer little assistance in helping him escape this claustrophobic death trap.
