"Living like the rich for everyone" was the utopian premise of architect Harry Glück in 1970. He built the Alterlaa residential park in Vienna: Three apartment blocks with 27 floors on 250,000 square meters. A swimming pool on the roof, tennis courts in the front garden and 3200 doors behind which the day-to-day life of ordinary people still takes place. For her debut documentary, Bianca Gleissinger returns to the place of her childhood and encounters its inhabitants, who are as quirky as they are amiable – at the shooting club, in the hobby cellar or on her small balcony. Wondering what remains of the former pioneering spirit of the housing project, she traces her own roots and tells touching stories from Alterlaa in the process.
