In his mid-forties, Gerry is a talented gambler, but he’s also in serious debt. Things have gotten so bad with his compulsive gambling and alcohol addiction that he even begins stealing from his own wife. However, Gerry’s heart is in the right place. He secretly dreams of passing on a huge win to his estranged daughter, whom he hasn’t seen for years. When Gerry meets big talking, clever guy Curtis at the casino, he believes the moment for a major coup has arrived. The two gamblers set off on a road trip along the Mississippi with the aim of clearing all their debts in one go with a round of high-stake poker in New Orleans.
