The young, poor and receptive to religious belief are the American evangelicals’ target group, and Uganda seems to be the perfect territory for their missionary activities in Africa. GOD LOVES UGANDA offers insight into the free churches of the USA and follows missionaries to Uganda where they have not only been credited with creating schools and hospitals, but also promoting religious bigotry and homophobia. This film explores the braiding of religion and politics, and shows the victims of the battle between biblical word and alleged wantonness.
