Ralph Zavadil, better known as Cap’n Video, is a crazy video artist whose stunt clips reached cult status in the 1990s. Long before Johnny Knoxville and Co. made a name for themselves on MTV’s ‘Jackass’, Cap’n Video was undertaking madcap missions for Ontario’s local TV station using his favourite props: a skateboard, a torch helmet and fire. Ten years after the programme was cancelled, Ralph is planning a comeback for the 20th anniversary of Cap’n Video. In addition to numerous clips from his video collection, this documentary also includes interviews with a more contemplative, quiet Ralph, and with friends and family members.
