When AVATAR hit theatres in 2009, James Cameron's sci-fi epic ushered in a technical revolution in Hollywood. The blockbuster, which was shot using digital 3-D cameras newly developed at the time, is still one of the most successful films of all time. The richness of detail with which Cameron created the world around the Na'vi species won three awards at the Oscars. In December 2022, the long-awaited sequel AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER will be released. To mark the occasion, ZFF will be showing the first part in a restored 3-D version with revised picture and sound.
