After a plane crash, Saï, a tiny capuchin monkey born and raised in captivity, finds himself alone and lost in the vast wilderness of the Amazon jungle. Unprepared, the little monkey feels overwhelmed by this sudden freedom. Facing a new world, Saï has to find his way and protect himself from hungry crocodiles, powerful boas and expeditious jaguars. Saï soon realises that his only chance of surviving in this foreign world is to find other capuchin monkeys – and be adopted by them. Shot in the Brazilian rain forest, the protagonists in director Thierry Ragobert’s extraordinary narrative animal film consists of capuchin monkeys – supported by a plethora of Hollywood extras: 5000 species of animal, 40’000 species of plant and 2.5 million species of insect.
