Born 1971 in Scotland, Ewan McGregor achieved worldwide critical acclaim in 1996 when he played the emaciated heroin addict Renton in director Danny Boyle’s film TRAINSPOTTING. He landed the largest role of his career and set the international film community on fire when he signed on as Jedi Master Obi-Wan-Kenobi in STAR WARS: EPISODE I – THE PHANTOM MENACE (1999). His impressive acting career has seen him collaborate with such renowned directing greats as Ridley Scott for BLACK HAWK DOWN (2001) and Roman Polanski for THE GHOST WRITER (2010). In addition to his numerous other awards, McGregor has also received Golden Globe nominations for his roles in MOULIN ROUGE! (2001) and SALMON FISHING IN THE YEMEN (2011).
