Marko drives for the weekend from Berlin with his 8-year-old son to his parents. The 30-year-old author hopes to relax for a couple of days at their country house. “Sleep long, good food, everything fine,” he thinks to himself. When he arrives, however, he soon finds that things are in a state of upheaval: Marko’s father, Günther, has sold his publishing company and plans to take a long holiday, and his depressive mother surprises the whole family by deciding to stop taking her medication. While Marko supports his mother’s decision, Günther and Marko’s younger brother Jakob, are decidedly against it. Günther’s plans are thwarted and Jakob fears for the health of his mother – but he too is in difficulty, harbouring a troubling secret.
