Suffering from a terminal illness, James takes his three oldest and closest friends on a trip to Barafundle Bay, a place of fantastic melancholic beauty on the southwest coast of Wales. The situation, the challenges they face in dealing with James’ condition and their suffocating bond forces the protagonists to think about their own lives and the compromises each of them has had to deal with. James’ frank sarcasm brings long suppressed animosity to the surface, which threatens to end in open aggression. What began in this tragicomic buddy movie as a light-hearted holiday progressively turns into a challenging test of friendship
