by Nat Faxon, Jim Rash
Duncan has withdrawn to the rear-facing seat of the car as he heads for the beach with his mother Pam, her overbearing new boyfriend Trent and Trent's equally insufferable daughter Steph. Trent attempts to intimidate the introverted teen with rude expressions and stupid rules. The summer looks bleak for Duncan. Until, that is, he meets fun-loving Owen who works at the nearby Water Wizz water park. Next day, Duncan heads straight to the park to visit his new friend – and enters a completely new world, where he feels more thrilled than he’d ever felt in his life before. Thanks to Owen’s relaxed style, Duncan is finally able to free himself from his previous isolation. This summer comedy is the directing debut of Jim Nash and Nat Faxon, whose screenplay for THE DESCENDANTS scooped an Oscar.
