Joseph numbs his mental pain with alcohol. When his ex, alongside their nine-year-old son and her new husband, emigrates to Australia, Joseph finally finds the strength to face the demons of his past. And so he sets off for Ireland, where he promptly meets a charming person who he had not seen for 30 years. However, the ghosts of his abysmal childhood also still live here. Director Shane Meadows stages a breathtaking drama about repressed memories and the restless search for salvation between revenge and forgiveness. ZFF screens the first two episodes of the four-part miniseries.
