Perfect Days

Hirayama works as a toilet cleaner in Tokyo, the largest metropolis in the world. The fact that this is not the most prestigious profession is of little concern to him. He goes about his work thoroughly and conscientiously, while finding satisfaction in his clearly structured daily routine. He spends his lunchtime in the park, where he listens with pleasure to the rustling of leaves. And while driving, he listens to his beloved rock songs while singing along to them. One day, out of nowhere, Hirayama's spirited niece appears. She not only turns his regular life upside down, but also brings his past to light. Amidst the dynamics of a pulsating big city, veteran director Wim Wenders finds the aesthetic in simplicity.
