The more terrible the images, the better the deal. When darkness falls over the streets of Los Angeles, ‘nightcrawler’ Lou Bloom begins hunting: Car accidents, burglaries, assaults – Lou never misses an opportunity to capture scandalous pictures on his video camera. The buyer of his videos is the TV producer Nina, who has played this game for some time and is thrilled by Lou's talent. Driven by the desperate urge for success – and seemingly immune to moral dilemmas – Lou slides ever deeper into the business, and soon threatens to make the headlines himself.
