Margin Call

A large investment bank on New York’s Wall Street, the day before the 2008 financial crisis. Alarm bells start ringing in the head of up-and-coming banker Peter Sullivan when, searching through files late at night, he discovers that the bank’s mortgage business is worth a fraction of its book value. That same evening, the bank’s directors are gathered together to come up with a bail-out plan – but it’s already too late. The financial thriller MARGIN CALL offers an insight into the world behind the mirrored facade of a major New York bank, and analyses the group dynamics of a small clique forced to make decisions of huge significance under enormous time pressure.
