Michael grew up in France as the son of Tamil parents and now works as a policeman. He gets tasked with infiltrating a Gang in Paris, that collects protection money from fellow countrymen in the Little Jaffna neighborhood in order to finance the Tamil Tigers' fight for freedom in Sri Lanka. Michael soon comes face-to-face with the gang leader, who becomes suspicious and seems to be on to Michael's undercover investigations. A loud, colorful and energetic thriller set in the milieu in which director and lead actor Lawrence Valin grew up. 'In the Zurich district 5, where I live, there are many Tamil people. This colorful thriller makes the conflicts simmering in their community understandable.
Lawrence Valin was born in France and is of Sri Lankan descent. He grew up in Paris and studied acting at the International Theatre Workshop Blanche Salant and Paul Weaver. Valin works as an actor, screenwriter and director. In 2018, he released a short film titled LITTLE JAFFNA, which won him two awards at the Clermont-Ferrand Festival, the world’s largest short film festival.
