Amir and Narges love each other, but their traditional Iranian families are not allowed to know about their secret meetings. Narges hails from society's upper class and Amir is unemployed, which is why he is unable in the eyes of Narge's family to offer her enough. When Narge's parents organise an arranged marriage to another man, Amir begins working as a fisherman to earn some quick cash. In the process, he becomes involved in a lucrative but risky business. Behrooz Karamizade gives us an insight into the lives of young people in Iran, which are characterised by restrictions and a lack of perspective. The German film was shot entirely in Iran – this would no longer be possible today.
