Le otto montagne / The Eight Mountains

Paradisiacal snow-covered peaks tower high above in the Aosta Valley. During a summer vacation in the mountain village of Grana, 11-year-old city boy Pietro meets Bruno, a local of the same age. Despite their different lives, an intimate friendship soon develops between the two. Years later, they take different paths. While Bruno starts a family in his native village where he never really feels at home, the restless Pietro is drawn to the wide world. Nevertheless, he returns again and again – in search of refuge and friendship.
