26-year-old Jacinta has come to the end of a nine-month prison sentence at Maine Correctional Center, the same prison where her mother, Rosemary, is serving her time. In addition to their intimate relationship, mother and daughter are also united by a sad truth: both are convicted criminals and drug addicts. Their family history is marked by a cycle of drug use and imprisonment that has been repeated over generations. A vicious circle that Jacinta wants to break for the sake of her own daughter, 10-year-old Caylynn. This documentary accompanies Jacinta over a period of three years, highlighting her daily struggle as she attempts to get her life back on track, stay sober and maintain her relationship with Caylynn.
