Bil’in in the West Bank, 2005: Farmer Emad bought a camera to celebrate the birth of his fourth son Gibreel. At the same time, Israeli military forces occupied a piece of land in order to create a Jewish settlement and erect a border fence. Emad’s friends put up a non-violent fight. As Gibreel grows into a young boy, the situation at the border is in danger of escalating. Arrests and violence threaten the existence of Emad and his family. Five years and five broken cameras: Together with the Israeli filmmaker Guy Davidi, Emad assembles the images of five years of resistance. Poetic, powerful and unsettling – each camera has its own story to tell.
