by Kristoffer Borgli
Despite shunning the limelight and opting for the quiet life, the listless family man and college professor Paul Matthews becomes an overnight star when he appears in other people's dreams. As in real life, his appearances are unexciting and banal, yet Paul finds himself showered with attention. When he encounters a dreamer, whose visions deviate substantially from the norm, serious consequences ensue. In this black comedy, filmmaker Kristoffer Borgli studiously demonstrates what "going viral" means with this tongue-in-cheek take on the everyday madness of celebrity culture. Nicolas Cage gives one of the best performances of his career.
