Trapped between eternally grey skies and a rundown row of houses in a small village in Wales, Jan has lost any joy for life she may have had. Held back by her tedious every day life at the supermarket and her side job at the local pub, the animal lover spends what spare time she has caring for her husband, a few geese, a lazy dog and a daft goat. She knows she is lacking a dream. One evening, while in the pub, she happens to overhear the rapturous stories of former success in horse racing. Following destiny’s nudge, she develops a crazy plan to breed a special race horse together with a few friends and pub-goers – and so the Dream Alliance collective is born. The proletarians set out to stir up the upper-class playground that is the horse racing scene.
