In the middle of the night, unusual lights flicker on the water in Oslo’s harbour. Shortly afterwards, men, women and children appear on the surface. An inexplicable phenomenon that repeats itself all over the world. These people originate from the Stone Age, from the Viking Age or from the late 18th century. A few years later, the city is filled with people from the past as well as the present. While the mystery remains unsolved, there is a strive for a peaceful coexistence and policeman Lars is assigned his first colleague from the Viking Age. The former warrior will support him during the investigation of a murder case – but her approach is anything but contemporary.
