This film portrays Danish soldiers during their deployment in Afghanistan under the UNO mandate. Parting from families and friends marks the beginning of a six-month stay in a war zone. Armadillo is a camp in the Helmand province from where the Danes patrol the area. At first glance, it is difficult to distinguish friend from enemy; the Taliban master the art of camouflage confronting the soldiers face to face on more than one occasion. Armadillo impressively captures how the protagonists deal with these encounters and highlights their worries and fears in combat and in the camp. Armadillo shows what happens when politics meets reality.
