    Anniversary edition with record 79‘000 visitors

    The Zurich Film Festival continues on the road to success. With some 79’000 (previous year: 71’000) visitors, the festival’s anniversary edition saw a renewed increase in ticket sales by 11%. The ZFF also experienced considerable growth in all other areas: 145 films (previous year: 122), 374 screenings (previous year: 344) and a budget of 6.9M (previous year: 6.1M) proves that in it’s anniversary year, the ZFF remains on top form.

    The Awards of the 10th Zurich Film Festival

    Huge Success for ‚ZFF 72 Talent Contest’

    The very first ‚ZFF 72 Talent Contest’ was a huge success. A total of 235 individuals or crews from eleven countries made a film with the theme ,by chance’ and submitted it to the contest. The Jury Award of the first ‚ZFF 72 Talent Contest’ went to „Zufällig Sie?“ by the three students Christian Wütschner, Lennart Benz and Lennart Zellmer from Friedrichshafen.     3rd International Film Music Competition

    The US American composer Leeran Z. Raphaely is the winner of the third International Music Film Competition, which took place during the 10th Zurich Film Festival at the Tonhalle on Wednesday evening. Raphaely received the Golden Eye Award for Best International Film Music 2014 endowed with a CHF 10’000 cash prize.

    John Malkovich to Receive Golden Eye Award at ZFF

    Two-time Oscar nominee John Malkovich (RED, IN THE LINE OF FIRE, DANGEROUS LIAISONS, BEING JOHN MALKOVICH) will receive the Zurich Film Festival's prestigious ‘Golden Eye' award at this year's festival and also present, alongside director Matt Shakman, his latest starring vehicle, the thriller CUT BANK, which has been selected as a gala premiere.

    Tribute to... Award Goes to French Film Director Claire Denis

    This year’s Zurich Film Festival A Tribute to... award goes to the French screenwriter and film director Claire Denis. This will be the first time that a female French filmmaker has received a ZFF award. Claire Denis will collect the Golden Eye in person during the Award Night at Zurich Opera House on October 4. A retrospective comprising six representative productions offers a comprehensive insight into her work.

    Celebratory Opening of the 10th Zurich Film Festival

    The 10th Zurich Film Festival opens this evening to 750 invited guests from near and far. The evening kicks off at the Green Carpet in front of the new Festival Centre at 19:00, before moving to the corso cinema at approx. 20:00. The festival’s two Co-Directors, Nadja Schildknecht and Karl Spoerri, and the mayor of Zurich, Corine Mauch, will hold the opening speeches.     Multi-Talent Zach Braff to Attend Zurich Film Festival

    The US American multi-talent Zach Braff is coming to the Zurich Film Festival. Braff will present on Friday (26.9.) at the cinema corso 1 his most recent production WISH I WAS HERE, in which he plays the leading role and for which he wrote the screenplay, he also directed and co-produced the film. Braff will be accompanied by his producer Michael Shamberg, who will receive the Career Achievement Award prior to the premiere.
