Titli wants to fly far from the influence of his criminal family. The youngest of three brothers wants no part in their shady dealings, but nobody in his family particularly cares what he wants. Titli plans to gain his independence by applying for the concession of a new car park. When Titli is forced by his brothers to marry the beautiful Neelu – a union neither of them want – his plan seems to have failed. However, as Titli and Neelu become better acquainted, they become aware that they can help each other realize their dreams. Premiered in Cannes, director Kanu Behl’s feature film debut takes us to the hectic centre of a petty criminal household on the outskirts of Delhi, and portrays an environment characterized by unchanging patriarchal structures.
