ZFF Family Day: Fun and Games for the Whole Family
On Sunday, September 27, 2026, the ZFF Family Day will take place for the first time as part of the Zurich Film Festival. From 11:00 AM to 04:00 PM, families can enjoy a variety of activities centered on film, creativity, and the world behind the scenes at the Festival Center on Sechseläutenplatz. Admission to the Festival Center program is free.
Discover films, get creative, and enjoy the festival atmosphere together! On September 27, the first ZFF Family Day will celebrate the joy of film and shared experiences for movie fans of all ages. Families can explore different facets of the film world, try new things, and enjoy a fun-filled day centered on cinema. The ZFF Family Day is presented by UBS.

Admission to the program at the Festival Center is free, and advance registration is not required. Tickets for film screenings will be available for purchase starting September 14, 2026.

Free Activities at the Festival Center
Workshops: In FilmKids’ interactive workshops, children and teens can become filmmakers themselves. Two workshops are scheduled for ZFF Family Day: one focuses on makeup and hairstyles, and the other introduces participants to the world of animated film.
SRF Kids Star Moment: At the «SRF Kids Star Moment» with Anna Zöllig, participants step in front of the camera. They will learn what makes a good interview and have the opportunity to try out their skills as budding hosts.
The Magic of Film for the Little Ones: There’s also a special program for the festival’s youngest guests: Enjoy discovering, experimenting, and experiencing FLOW together. There's no right or wrong way. FLOW is an early childhood education program offered by the Lapurla Foundation where children are free to follow their curiosity.
Fun and Games for the Whole Family: On the Green Carpet, visitors can have their picture taken like real movie stars. With a little luck, they might even run into Goldie and Topsy, the ZFF and UBS mascots. Entertainment and refreshments include a wheel of fortune with attractive prizes, a coloring corner, popcorn, syrup, and other surprises.
Movie Highlights at the Cinema
In addition to the interactive program at the festival center, there will be highlights at the cinema during ZFF Family Day. Along with a film from the festival program, the premiere of the ZFF for Kids Studio will be celebrated at Corso Cinema. Tickets for this event will be available starting September 14 through regular ticket sales for the 22nd Zurich Film Festival.
