Six new Gala Premieres

Together with the Competition section, ZFF’s Gala Premiere section forms the core of the Zurich Film Festival, and once again features numerous prominent names. Among the approx. 30 productions in this year’s line-up are new films from such international directors as Florian Gallenberger, Scott Cooper, Denis Villeneuve and others.

BLACK MASS by Scott Cooper

COLONIA by Florian Gallenberger

SICARIO by Denis Villeneuve
An idealist FBI agent (Emily Blunt) is enlisted by the government to aid in the escalating war against drugs at the border area between the US and Mexico.

THE END OF THE TOUR by James Ponsoldt
Autobiographical film about "Rolling Stone"-journalist David Lipsky (Jesse Eisenger) and his meeting with author David Foster Wallace (Jason Segel). Bit by bit Lipsky explores the literary genius' contradictory personality.

LIFE by Anton Corbijn
A series of photos of actor James Dean is suppose to put photographer Dennis Stock (Robert Pattinson) on the map. But working with the eccentric star turns out to be complicated.

WALK IN THE WOODS by Ken Kwapis
Bill Bryson (Robert Redford) wants to hike the 2000 kilometre long Appalachian Trail. His companion on this hazardous journey is the former alcoholic Steve Katz (Nick Nolte) – it’s going to be a bumpy ride!


The programme of the 11th ZFF will be published on Steptember 10. Tickets are available from September 14.
